All better!

Extra Extra, read all about it! I'm feeling better. So I'm going back to blogging on a more consistent manner. This weekend I went to the winter cabin, deep in the woods. Where you never hear a car, the stars shine brights because there is not light pollution and I sleep like a log. Yes, the wilderness is a great place to rejuvenate.

I woke up this morning with a determination like no other. After taking my shower I realized that my skin is starting to show my age. Thise means I need to start wearing foundation on a regular basis. This chips into my early routine of hitting the snooze button 3 times...now I will hit it 2 times. I am not a huge fan of make up, but every little bit helps.

My 8 year anniversary is coming up on February 3rd. That leave me with 14 days...I will work my ass off till then! While I realize this whole weight loss thing is a lifestyle...I am creating a mini goal of doing 30 minutes every day on the elliptical and I will see and feel a difference by then. I realize I've said this on many occasions, so feel free to check back on the Feb 3rd to see if I've followed through with my hear me roar moment of "I can do this"...cause really, I can....or you can continue to follow me regularly to hear about how great this new routine is going!! Next week I plan on heading back to the gym during my lunch hour at minimum 3 days a week to do weights. My goal is, if I am doing cardio at home I can skip my cardio at the gym and go straight to the weights. So that is my plan. This morning I had a nice bowl of cottage cheese with mixed berries and nuts. one good decision down, 3 zillion more to go! Hope you have a wonderful day and remember, you still have time to be part of my 300 likes giveaway on my 2dash3 page! If you like one of a kind, handmade pieces please take a look see and message me if you have any questions or requests.

Here is an interesting article about why we should drink water.
http://www.coachcalorie.com/drinking-enough-water-is-the-secret-to-fat-loss/

32 minutes

Jan 13, 2013
Jumped on. the elliptical today I had planned on doing 20 minutes. But when I reached 20, I challenged myself to 25, then figured 30. finally reached  32 minutes then stopped. While on the machine I told myself  "Evey night, I will go on for 20 and starting tomorrow morning I will wake up at 5:30, and workout for 20 minutes.

Guess what...it's now the next day, found this

The flu is kicking my ass. Yes, I needed some colorful words to emphasize the monster this flu is. Todays chosen word is ASS. I will be jumping on the elliptical at some point today..sweat it out right? But on the plus side, I have 2 new custom necklaces that you can feast your eyes on.

This one I made for my mom for a Christmas gift. She loved the bright crimson beads. When I started 2dash3, my mom and dad  went on a shopping spree for various beads. Mom sent me these beautiful crimson beads and expressed how beautiful they were, They really are. I have a hard time parting with the beads my parents get for me. I want to make one long necklace with it so only I can wear them, But, I am only parting with the material.(this is what I keep telling myself)  It's the knowing of how special the beads are- my parents were so excited for this new found hobby of mine that they went out, found some beads stores in Florida and took the time to pick out beads they thought I would love. Making my first necklace with those crimson beads for my mom seemed appropriate. I added some Brazilian agate and recycled paper beads to the mix along with copper wire. Thanks for the pictures Troy!

Take a look at these beads! you will notice a lighter pink bead, those beads are made with recycled paper. My sister in law gave them to me as a christmas gift! I LOVE THEM! With this box of beads she got me I will be making a necklace for family and of course, myself. BUT this gave me an idea. I did the research and  I will be starting to make my own paper beads! I am so happy my sister in law introduced me to paper beads, they are beautiful, colorful, and a perfect way to recycle paper...2dash3 is looking into other Eco friendly beads..stay tuned.

The next picture is a custom necklace made for Kayla. I used green jade along with seed beads and created each link for the necklace by wrapping the wire. I can't wait to see her face when I bring it to her! The necklace is actually pretty long, she is pregnant and would like to pendant to touch her belly. I will take a picture of her wearing it, stay tuned for that picture.

You can go to my page 2DasH3 - I will be doing another giveaway at 300 likes for a custom pair of earrings. or email me at 2dash3creations@gmail.com.

Universe conspires

Today I am feeling better! I was debating to start working out, I mulled over if I should do 20 minutes tonight because really, a good sweat would do my body some good. My boyfriend is working today and I thought to myself, Perfect, I'll take the bus to a stop that is closer to his work and I'll walk the rest of the way. Well, turns out my bus pass was left at home and I need to walk the whole way. This will be about a 45 minute walk. I cringed at the thought of walking that long with my sore neck and somewhat recovered self. But what a way to break me back into the workout world. I won't be working up a sweat but I'm sure the walk will do my body some good. Turns out the weather is beautiful, I have my new winter boots on my feet and some great winter gloves to make sure warmth is not an issue.

It's crazy how things happen when the time is right. My parents always say to me. Things happen in it's own time. I sometimes get frustrated and impatient but patience truly is a virtue. When the time is right all things come your way...

***************

Well, it's the next day and that walk was about 45 minutes...night time, about to watch The American Horror story...

********

It is now the next morning. Finding time to write and the silence within is hard when you are getting over the flu. Well, the apartment is quiet and I have found the time. The past few weeks have been moments of  pure reflection. From the death of my grandfather to my amazing family gathering to getting sick flu and then to top it all off, lost my bus pass- which tuned out to be a bit of a luxury for me because I got a ride to work!
But today I am feeling 85 percent better, but a 175 percent better than when I was sick during the holidays. I   would like to start doing 20 minutes on the elliptical. But right now i'm going to work on a necklace. I was given a pendant to make a necklace with. I will post pictures of that as well once it's finished. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

What if Money didn't matter

Whenever I get sick I find I moan and groan and revert back to a state of being that is very unattractive. I keep telling myself to write something positive, but the truth of the matter is I'm one miserable biatch! All I want to do is crawl under the covers and create a world with me, the bed and my nice big comforter.

I keep getting this feeling  that the world ill prepared me on what to  expect when I got older. When we were younger there were snow days where you stayed home, watched TV and wondered what mom and dad would cook when they get home..when we got older snow days took on a whole other meaning, dress warm and drive safe to work then come home and prepare something to eat. A note from mom and dad saying their little love bug is sick could she please stay home doesn't seem to cut it either. It seems like we had it so good when we were younger but everything comes at a price- we had a bed time and were told when to eat, what to eat...thoughts of "when I get older I can make my own choices" crossed our minds. Now that we are older we have choices, staying up past 10 is our choice, but we pay for it when we wake up the next morning. We now get a note saying we can't go to work, but it's from the doctor, not from the loving hands of mom and dad. We go to work and forge along like little troopers, taking orders from the big guy so we can pay the other big guy. Sick or not, a little tummy cramp is no longer an excuse to play hooky.

I will say this, there is a silver lining in being sick- getting pampered with love: "aww muffin, you must feel horrible..let me cook you a nice supper" or "go draw a nice warm bath and when you get out I'll rub your feet". Moments like these really help you to appreciate being sick and sometimes makes you want to prolong your coughing just to see what else you can get from being sick...But with this flu I would rather cook supper for a football team and call it a day..I am still losing weight on this horrible horrible diet. But no amount of weight loss could ever make up for how crappy I  feel.

These are some little thoughts that cross my mind but the above video made me wonder. Why are some people living the life of sailing on a boat with a side of caviar and champagne while others go to work sick trying to keep up with the bills?  We all have dreams and passions that are stifled by the need to survive in this money driven world.  It's a shame that we can't all do what we love. I am lucky I can find time to enjoy my hobby and share it with those who have an appreciation for handmade jewelry. I am grateful to have a job that allows me grow as a person. If money didn't matter I would be a stay at home mom who made jewelry. Who knows, maybe one day  that could be a reality, but for now I sit at my desk among people who live by the slogan another day another dollar.

What are your dreams and passions? What would you be doing if money wasn't an object? What is the world missing out on because you are doing something other than your calling? Wouldn't the world be a happier place if we could all be doing what we feel we are here to do on earth?  My thoughts are rather utopian. Unfortunately we don't live in a perfect world where money doesn't matter..rather money is what makes the world go round.

I hope you've enjoyed the above video and rant. Please share with me your thoughts! Leave a comment and if you're on Facebook, check out my page 2dash3. ~x0x

Good ole sick diet...

Woah! it's been a while since I blogged but I've been so sick with a flu/cold

I don't think I felt this horrible since I was little. I remember my  parents made me amazing soup and made sure all the corners of the sheets on my bed were tucked in just right. They always tucked me in so tight, almost mummified, but I looked forward to it, I was loved and knew that everything would be okay as long as they were there beside me.

Well...I'm a big girl now and mom and dad skype me to make sure I'm doing well, reminding me to get lots of fluid and sleep. Lucky for me I have a boyfriend who went on some medication runs and gave me the pat on the back telling me to suck it up...just kidding...he was so sweet and caring, mom and dad would be proud of him for taking such good care of me.

I'm back at work and not only am I still feeling sick..but my friend decided to join me for a week (if you know what I mean ladies)- well on the bright side, I didn't get both blows delivered to me at once and,  as my boyfriend pointed out..yes I was sick during the holidays but at least I could feel like crap in the comfort of my home and keep my sick days for a later date. I've lost a total of 7 pounds on this sick diet. Part is self control as I could potentially sit down with a box of crackers and eat the entire thing...but the other part is because I feel like poop. I am hoping that once I am back 100% I can start to workout and resume a normal healthy diet and continue on this weight loss goal.  Check out the diagram below that I found while surfing for tips on being healthy, hopefully you find some of the tips helpful!

To my 2dash3 fans. My huge announcement is still stewing in background but it's going to be pretty exciting! I hope you stay tuned and stick around for the big day! I'm also doing a giveaway when my facebook page reaches 300 likes, so if you have friends who like handmade one of a kind pieces of jewelry  share my page so we can get the ball rolling on a custom pair of earrings GIVEAWAY! As well, if you are a fan you are eligible for all future giveaways!

2013

With Christmas and New Years Celebration behind me. I stepped on the scale this morning to my surprise I  lost 1 pound, I would like to add I'm sick as a dog with a cold. I've been drinking lots of turmeric and ginger heated up with almond milk. It doesn't taste like candy in a cup but it works.

This cold is horrible. I woke up this morning with a pain in my left ear and a cough that wouldn't quit. I have not been able to workout because between coughs and sleep my body is using enough energy. I have been losing sick pounds which is not the way to go. As soon as I start to feel better I will start my workouts. I caved and bought some cold medicine....I don't have the patience with this ear ache..sorry Turmeric and ginger...but I will continue to use you in conjunction with Buckley's and Benelyn.

Now that I've shared with you my sickness woes, I will share with you my thoughts for 2013- Ralph Emerson says it nicely-  I keep feeling like circumstances come in the way of what I want in life. It's easy to be like a free floating stick in a creek and allow life to throw whatever it wants at you. But like my parent use to tell me, "Don't be the stick that gets carried away with the stream, be the stone that the water caresses as it rushes over you" This year, will be my year. I will be the person I decide to be- change can be hard, especially when you are use to a certain way of being but,  if I'm not happy with the outcome, the only person who can change it is me. My grandfather passing away has brought me more realization of what family is and how important is to me. Seeing everybody and feeling so much happiness around them made me realize that we can lead our separate lives but we need to make time for those we love. Time slips between our fingers and we have no way of stopping or rewinding time, but we can make the most of our moments. I don't have control over everything, but the things I do, I will change. I wish each and everyone of you a Happy New year. Take the time to let those you love know how important they are to you, it only takes seconds- People will always remember you based on your actions, you can THINK you tell them enough how much you love them, you can THINK whatever about yourself, but in the end your actions will dictate to the world who you were.
